Forex Managed Account

There are several different things to look for when looking to choose a Forex managed account. One of the things that you have to look for in this type of account is someone that has a long and consistent track record as well as a manager’s tenure. You need to be sure that the manager in question can perform consistently over long periods of time. While this may ensure that a manager will not be the take the money and run type, it says nothing about future success with that particular account. There is no guarantee of success.

When it comes to reliability, managers and firms that have a five year success rate are considered to be reliable. In considering a firm’s track record the standards that are held are four winning years of a five year record. However this doesn’t guarantee future results as most disclaimers will tell you in no uncertain terms. With a Forex managed account, past performance doesn’t guarantee results in the future is usually the disclaimer that you see with many if not all accounts of this sort. This is why you much use your common sense when dealing with accounts like this.

Humans are better managers at Forex managed account workings. Think about this for a moment. If an account managed by a human has equal odds of win and lose in a year then one out of 16 will have a decent record in five years and one of 32 will have a record that is impeccable in five years. This may seem like good odds when it comes to the market in general. However there is something else to think about. Consider the amount annually of new entries into the managed Forex account industry. There are hundreds of funds and managers that appear.

Those that are successful in the Forex managed account business will be prominently featured and the rest will disappear to appear under new name and management. However the disclaimer is constantly there, no matter who is managing accounts. This isn’t to way that it is bad to have a managed account in Forex. Having an account of this sort is very important part of a portfolio. This is basically establishing a track record and the value of a track record for an account that is managed. More will be explained in a further article on this subject in the coming time.
